PADI Open Water CertificationNow is the time to plunge into the PADI Open Water Diver course, the best dive program in the world! The PADI Open Water course assures you of a lifetime of diving adventure. Learn the fundamentals of diving with Kauai Scuba Center.  As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, you are free to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. If you have already tried a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience with Kauai Scuba Center during this vacation, the experience counts as one knowledge module. Anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. You must be older than the age of 14 to begin the PADI Open Water Diver program. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available. You will learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn your certification by completing the five knowledge development modules with tests at the end of each module, complete a non timed 200 meter swim, 10 minute survival float, a practice skill series, learning emergency procedures and by making the required open water ocean dives. If Open Water certification is booked sufficiently in advance of your vacation, we will mail the open water manual and DVD to you prior to your arrival on Kauai. This will maximize vacation
